Lauren Martinez

BSocWk (Flinders), GradDip Addiction and Mental Health (Adel)


Lauren is the founder and director of Wellness SA. She is an Accredited Mental Health Social Worker and member of the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW). Lauren has been a Mental Health Social Worker for 10 years and is passionate about helping people. She has worked in a variety of mental health settings including; Rural and Remote Mental Health Service (Glenside Hospital), Margaret Tobin Centre (Flinders Medical Centre), Port Lincoln Hospital, Inner South Community Mental Health Service (Rapid Response Team) and the Southern Youth Mental Health Service. Lauren has experience in working with people of all ages but specialises in working with adolescents through to the elderly (16 years and over). She has worked with people who have presented with a wide range of mental health issues including; depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, post-traumatic stress disorder, grief and loss and complex trauma. Lauren has completed a Graduate Diploma of Addiction and Mental Health at the University of Adelaide.

Lauren grew up in country South Australia and understands all the joys of living in the country including community spirit, family, determination and resilience as well as the challenges including isolation, maintaining confidentiality, distance from and cost of quality health care. It is this that makes her passionate about helping people with their health and wellbeing on the Eyre Peninsula.
